Protection of and Support for Critical National Infrastructure
The UK Government has listed the Water and Sewerage Utilities as part of the Critical National Infrastructure:
Utilities, communication and financial services
This includes staff needed for essential financial services provision (including but not limited to workers in banks, building societies and financial market infrastructure), the oil, gas, electricity and water sectors (including sewerage), information technology and data infrastructure sector and primary industry supplies to continue during the COVID-19 response, as well as key staff working in the civil nuclear, chemicals, telecommunications (including but not limited to network operations, field engineering, call centre staff, IT and data infrastructure, 999 and 111 critical services), postal services and delivery, payments providers and waste disposal sectors.
Detectronic would like to reassure its Water and Sewerage Utility customers that it will continue to deliver its Sewer Networks Flow and Level monitor maintenance, data-delivery, data analytical & reporting services throughout this critical period.
In order to achieve this, Detectronic has introduced new control measures to protect the health and safety of its workers, its customers and the general public – in accordance with Government guidelines. Despite this we shall endeavour to
maintain performance KPIs wherever possible.
These critical services deliver enhanced Sewer Network Operational Performance, reduce the risk of blockages resulting in Polluting Spills, ensure Regulatory Compliance and Environmental Protection.
