Are your assets performing as they should?

As part of its continued commitment to new product development, leading monitoring specialist, Detectronic, has launched a new tool specifically designed to inform asset performance: the ORAKEL™ Asset Performance Indicator Tool.

Over the last decade, analysts in the Detectronic Data Centre (DDC) have accumulated vast amounts of hydraulic sewer data amounting to more than ten billion data points. Detectronic has used this data to enable its clients to better understand the behavioural response of their varying sewer networks here in the UK and overseas. It is this data that is the heart of the company’s latest product development.

Explains Dave Walker, commercial director at Detectronic: “With various advancements in technology, the DDC is working in close collaboration with our R&D team to create numerous tools which will help Water and Sewerage Companies (WASC) to prepare for PR19 and the challenging metrics in AMP7. The ORAKEL™ API Tool is a result of this collaboration and the intricate mining our many data archives.”

“Our ORAKEL™ API Tool monitors the constituent of waste water being received at the water treatment works,” outlines Dave. “The tool features a multi-analyser which has an integral flow channel allowing the system to calculate daily loads as well as instantaneous loading at the works. Correlating this flow and load data with other data from a series of smart sensors located within the network, it is now possible to develop a series of metrics that can be used to identify performance upstream in the catchment.”

All data is channelled through the DDC, which is open seven days a week, and is where skilled analysts work through the different data sets to correlate and develop the models needed to generate the correct metrics for the Measurement of Success (MoS).

Adds Dave: “I would urge any WASC preparing for AMP7 to contact us to discuss how our new ORAKEL™ API Tool can benefit their business including full treatment works compliance in relation to asset health metric 4 relating specifically to wastewater. Information collated would also support catchment management delivery and resilience into AMP7.”
