Working in partnership to reduce
flooding
and prevent pollution

Detectronic’s Asset Stewardship Manager

Flood and pollution prevention experts, Detectronic, have appointed Lawrence Kieran as asset stewardship manager.

Kieran, who lives in Bradway, Sheffield, joins a growing team of specialists at Detectronic and will be based at the company’s satellite office in the city.

After leaving school at 16, Kieran trained with Amtec Surveying and has been involved in the drainage industry ever since.

Having spent the last four years working as plant and transport manager with Kier MG, predominantly on contract with Severn Trent Water, he has also worked a variety of projects with Wessex Water and United Utilities.

“When it comes to smart network monitoring, Detectronic lead the way”, outlines Kieran. “I have extensive experience in CCTV surveying in drainage and sewer networks and it is my aim to tie that up with the monitoring and data analysis already on offer here at Detectronic to offer a comprehensive, 360 degree monitoring service.

“Water companies need to understand exactly what is happening in their networks and we have the skills and equipment to do just that. Knowledge is power but analysis of that data is key and by pinpointing specific problems, often before they occur, we can help water companies to target their spending where it’s needed the most.”

Continues Kieran: “Smarter cleansing programmes are just one example of how we can bring about cost savings for water companies. Cleansing programmes are usually carried out irrespective of whether they are required or not. Using our unique combination of flow, level and CCTV monitoring, our customers will be able to implement cleansing only when and where it is required.”

Commenting on his appointment, Dave Walker, commercial director at Detectronic, said: “Lawrence shares our objectives of assisting water companies to deliver efficiencies and cost savings via smart network monitoring.

“Stewardship is a key ODI and with CEOs tasked with improving their networks over the next five years, having Lawrence on board further enhances our commitment to working in partnership with water companies to reduce flooding, prevent pollutions and improve rivers and bathing water.”
